This photo is the earliest image we have of Simon Adler (b.2 Dec 1860, Hoeringhausen; d. 25 Oct 1909). Now for some of his genealogy.
Isaak Adler was born in 1792 and died on 6 April 1862. He married Hanne Sulzbaechen (b. 1795; d.19 Apr 1850) on 3 Dec 1823. They had 12 children.
Baruch (b.27 Apr 1826-14 Nov 1902) married Liebchen Boehm on 20 Feb 1852. She was born to Hirsch Boehm and Sara [Katzenstein] 16 Nov 1827. Isaak was either born in or brought to Hoeringhausen, Germany, c. 1793, which is in the region of Waldeck, 30km west of Kassel (Hessen-Nassau). Town records indicate that he was a "Schuhmachermeister," a "Master Shoe Maker." Family lore also maintains that he was a Cantor.
