Arthur, Ida, Hugo, the youngest of the Adler eight sibilings (undated) (partial restoration). Ida was born in Hoeringhausen 3 May 1897; Arthur was born there as well, 12 Feb 1899. Soon after Arthur's birth, his parents relocated to Harburg in northern Germany. His father, Simon, died in 1911. Arthur, as the only unwed son, would take his mother, Emma, with him to Madrid during the early 1930s, where he opened a bookstore. The Civil War broke out in July of 1936, at which point he appears to have returned to Germany for a short while. Emma Adler is buried in Madrid. [ArcAdler 0017]
