RS010 | (r) Augusta (Marx) Sohn (b.4 April 1854; d. 25 Jan 1920), mother of Rosa (Sohn) Rothschild, grandmother of Selma (Rothschild) Adler. Her son, Leo Sohn, went to New York around the turn of the century where he married Fanny Loeb. Pictured next to Augusta are Fanny's father and her sister, Mimmy Loeb (no descendants), who were visiting Germany. Back of photo in Selma's handwriting, "Meine Mannh. Grossmutter, Tante Fanny 's father and sister Mimmy." Photo attributed to "Ateller A. Saal, Nr. 177 Fernsprecher, Bad Wildungen 1911." Ironically, Bad Wildungen was a resort quite close to Hoeringsburg, which was where the Adler family settled in 1793 [cf. Adler Archive].
