RS003Sessie Rothschild (b.27 Jul 1883, Hoerstein; d. 2 Aug 1965, NYC), here probably around 1903. She married Adolf Hecht (24 Nov 1886; d. 02 Jul 1953, NYC). They had three children: Frieda (30 Sep 1909; 26 Sep 1972); Arthur Hecht (b.1913); Paula Hecht (b.1911). Sessie and Adolf were prisoners at Theresienstadt (Terezin) for more than three years.

There were, apparently, more "Rothschilds" in Hoerstein than just Joseph and his clan. For instance, we read in an article in the newspaper, "The Israelite," of 3 Juli 1924: "Hörstein bei Aschaffenburg, 1. Juli (1924): Das Ehepaar David Oppenheimer und Frau Esther geborene Rothschild feierten am Samstag, den 21. Juni, in körperlicher und geistiger Frische im Kreise ihrer Kinder und Enkel das Fest der Goldenen Hochzeit." [the married couple, David Oppenheimer and Mrs. Esther nee Rothschild, celebrate on Saturday, the 21 of June, in the physical and spiritual company of their children and grandchildern, their Golden Wedding Anniversary].<br />

Based on another article in the same paper, Esther celebrated her 80th birthday in 1933, meaning she was born in 1853, perhaps a younger sister of Joseph. More research is required. ![RS007 | This is Augusta Marx (b. 4 April 1854; d. 25 January 1920). This is likely an engagement picture from the early 1870s. She married Samuel Sohn (b.15 June 1848; d. 12 Feb 1927). Ironically, Bad Wildungen was a resort quite close to Hoeringsburg, which was where the Adler family settled in 1793 [cf.
