Frelinghuysen-Morris House
This is the house of George L. K. Morris and Suszy Frelinghuysen in Lenox, Massachusetts. Morris originally constructed the notched roof studio space in 1931 on part of his parents' 46 acre estate, "Brookhurst." The house was added in 1941 after Morris and Frelinghusen were married. The architect was John Butler Swann. The frescos were done by Morris and Frelinghuysen themselves. Morris was instrumental in bringing cubism to America after spending time in Paris. Frelinghuysen was also an accomplished artist and a first rate opera singer. You can read their story at frelinghuysen.org.
