Extremely impressive from a distance, Rocamadour is really a pilgrimage site. The "town" is now a kitchy tourist trap, although the medieval chapels are interesting for some rare imagery. It's worth seeing because it is situated so spectacularly, but we enjoyed the authenticity of St. Emilion, Sarlat, and even old Perigueux more.
